Dave Macomber, Licensed Professional Counselor

Equinox Integrative Counseling is an independent private practice in Bend, Oregon. I am the owner and solo practitioner. As a middle-aged male therapist with a background in both education and clinical mental health, I offer in-person and telehealth dedicated care tailored to the complex realities of modern life. My practice specializes in delivering practical coping strategies and deep healing for individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation challenges. With specialized training in trauma-informed frameworks and neurodiversity-affirming support, I provide expert care for acute and complex trauma, relationship and couples counseling, youth and adolescents (ages 9+), targeted parenting coaching, and ADHD support. Whether you are looking to steady your nervous system, repair an attachment rupture, or dismantle long-standing layers of chronic shame, you will find a secure, highly collaborative, and deeply professional space here to help you restore internal balance and alignment. I am an IFS Level-1 trained clinician and a Certified ADHD Professional (ADHD-CCSP).

About Me

I believe in building a therapeutic space grounded in curiosity, warmth, and real human connection. To me, showing up as a steady, present, and attuned person comes first—and being a clinician comes second.

Before transitioning into life as a therapist, I spent 17 years as a middle school educator and administrator. In the classroom, I designed student-centered, interest-based, experiential learning environments. Today, that same philosophy shapes my counseling practice. I do not view therapy as a rigid set of prescripted interventions. Instead, it is a collaborative exploration that helps clients build awareness of their innate strengths and what might be holding them back from living life the way they want to. In my office, clients don't just talk about change—they get to feel it and experience it through guided self-discovery and deep healing.

When I am not in the office, I can usually be found enjoying time with family and friends in the outdoors around Bend.
